Geraldine & Eugene – The Step House Hotel

Almost a year ago I got a call from Geraldine asking me to be her wedding photographer! I was so excited, Geraldine was once my Brownie leader. I have so many wonderful memories with her from my childhood, she was always the life and soul at our weekly meetings. She always had the biggest welcoming smile and the most contagious laugh.

Well, I am glad to say none of that has changed. Geraldine is still as warm as she was all those years ago in the hall in Inistioge. And, when I first met Eugene, I could tell these two were a match made in Heaven. They compliment each other so well, both kind and fun loving and both with beautiful beaming smiles.

So, when I arrived at the Step House Hotel on September 15th, I knew I was in for a great day.

I made my way to the Honeymoon Suite and was greeted by Lisa and Louise, Geraldine’s two daughters and was led into a hive of activity. Geraldine was in the hair chair getting glam. Bridesmaid Michelle poured the tea. Louise took her seat in the makeup chair, while Lisa accepted delivery of the flowers.

While Geraldine and the girls were getting ready, I documented everything we needed, the dress, the shoes and the atmosphere.  I also made time to pop down to the gorgeous landscaped gardens for Groomsmen prep with Eugene and his Best Man Sean, his son Simon and daughter Diane. I love the “before” photos as much as the ceremony ones. I really enjoy capturing all those little moments and details, live and unstaged.

As Geraldine was helped into her dress by her two girls, the final coat of lipstick was applied and her son, Billy, arrived to escort her down the aisle.

I clicked away, capturing every moment and asked Geraldine how she was feeling. She simply replied, “I just can’t wait to marry him”.
And, as Geraldine was led to her groom by pageboys Finn and Rian, and the most gorgeous flower girl Blossom, you can see from Eugene’s reaction, the feeling was more than mutual.
